The Official Launch of CurraNZ

Those who have followed me for the last few years will know I have been an ambassador for CurraNZ from the start of my journey and I was honoured to be asked to be asked to attend the CurraNZ launch in London on the 30th Jan.

The evening started with a photo shoot for the VIP’s at the event and also for the attending ambassador’s. As you can see being in front of the camera does not come naturally to me but the photographer did a great job directing us and the resulting photos came out great!

As the press arrived we had the chance to mingle and chat with the guests. It was great to finally meet Chris Stirling as we have known each other for a few years but have not actually met, It was also fab to catch up with the Artemis Tri Ladies.

As the evening got into the full swing we were treated to a Q&A hosted by Vogue Williams and then a HIT workout from Lilly Sabri, I know I have a good level of fitness being an athlete but HIT is something else! Good job we had all dosed up on the Magic Berries before the session.

The evening ended with some great food and a chance to have a proper catchup with Sophie Johnson.

Check out the gallery below for some more snaps of the night.

Running up Gloßglockner

As part of my training this year I have been putting more focus into hill training as it will come in handy for Slateman and Snowman. I was asked by the team at Trail Burning to try out Mountain Rush. It helps gameify your training and works off your Strava activities.

I will be the first to admit that I thought getting to the top of Gloßglockner Mountain would be easy but boy I was wrong. I found that you do get an unrealistic view of the hills you run and even though they feel like mountains they are actually not that big.

I am going to have another go at the game and this time I will be actively seeking proper hills and inclines to help me conquer the challenge.

Zone3 at the Tri Show

This weekend I am back to London and will be helping out on the Zone3 stand so if you are planning a visit stop by stand TR510 and say hi or pick up a great deal on a kit for the season ahead. You can also meet Mark Foster & Keri-anne Payne at 11:30 and 14:00 on Saturday.

Also if you are attending pop over to the Bike Show and say hi to Natarsha from Stomp the Pedal and check out some of the stunning cycling kits she has on offer.

That’s all from me for now, don’t forget to leave a comment below and let me know how your pre-season training is going and what event suggestions you have.

I am Alex, a novice triathlete based in the south west of the UK. I have been dabbling with sprint triathlons since the end of 2014 and I have to admit its been great fun but a lot of hard work, harder than I thought it would have been if I am honest. In 2015 I met Blair Davies of Blair Davies Coaching and I told him about the passion I have found for the sport and also my goals for the future, one day I would love to race in a GB tri suit in an age group race.
